Buri Gaadiyaa Adam Zahir Resigns

Prior to the separation of police and armed forces in 2005, Adam Zahir headed the notorious National Security Services (NSS).
He has faced numerous accusations over police abuse. Most recently the family of Hussein Salah, who died after being taken into police custody last year, threatened to sue Zahir for negligence over the death, which they say resulted from police beatings.
Advisor to President Nasheed and former attorney general Hassan Saeed has recently hit out against Zahir by repeatedly accusing him of corruption and criminal activity.more
