More than 60 islands in 16 Atolls affectedLatest reports are that more than 60 islands in 16 Atolls have been flooded by today's tidal wave. Despite claims by authorities to the contrary, all islanders are complaining about the long delay in getting help from them.

Foakaidhoo In Shaviyani
Maduvvari In Raa
Hinnavaru In Lhaviyani
Dhagethi and Dhugurah In Alifu Dhaalu
Nilandhoo In Faafu Atoll
Hulhudheli, Maaenboodhoo, Kudahuvadhoo,Bandidhoo and Meedhoo In Dhaalu
All Inhabited Islands in Thaa Atoll
Kunahandhoo, Maamendhoo and Maavaiy in Laamu
Most of The Islands in Gaafu Alifu and Gaafu Dhaalu
Fuvahmulah

Tidal Wave Floods Maradhoo in Addu AtollTidal wave leaves Maradhoo heavily flooded with many properties destroyed, according to islanders. All other populated islands in Addu were also affected. There was no warning given by the authorities despite uncertain weather conditions and similar incidents in the Indian Ocean which had left some people dead in places like Mauritius and Reunion. Although several islands are affected still the aid has not reached. The people are still expecting the aid. Its feared that the people may have to spend the night without any help being provided.
