They are in really desperate conditions but look at this. Now Golhaabo is writing to world leaders and aid agencies pleading them to help. What he wants is aid in hard currency, so he can transfer the money to his personal accounts around the world. Almost every year, these islands are flooded but Golhaabo has done nothing to protect them, so that he can beg the world for aid money which goes straight to his personal accounts. Golhaabo is planning to visit Huvadhoo Atoll, worst affected by the floods, for a photo-shoot to send to the international community. The campaign to get money has already started. Relief Web reported yesterday "The President appeals for international assistance in helping the victims of the unprecedented sea swells which hit the Maldives on the 15th of this month".
